- Philadelphia Athletics. His
- career really took off in
- 1929. That year, he hit 33 homers, drove in
- 117 runs, and had a .354 batting average.

- infielder hit at least 30 home runs -- a major
- league record. In 1932, he walloped 58
- homers -- the fourth-highest season total in
- major league history.

- runs batted in (163). He won the
